23. MUNDANTHURAI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Boasting of a rich biodiversity with dense dark forest cover, the reserve has been classified as a Type 1 Tiger Conservation Unit representing tropical moist evergreen forest in the world. Rare species found here include leopard, jungle cat, giant squirrel, wild dog and elephant to name a few. The best time to visit is between October and January.
