20. BUGATTI VEYRON
The Veyron is arguably the first hypercar – a land-based missile with performance so far beyond the norm (not to mention legal limits), it’s almost otherworldly. How fast? Try 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 253mph.
At the Veyron’s heart sits an 8.0-litre, quad-turbo W16 engine. Peak power is 1,001hp – or 1,200hp in the Super Sport edition seen here. In 2013, the Super Sport was named the world’s fastest production car by Guinness World Records. It achieved 268mph with its speed limiter removed.
